The most important thing is to never pressure wash ECMs. Caring for Your Cummins Celect ECM The Cummins Celect ECM is designed to handle road spray and that eventually fails. But pressure washers can cause the water and chemicals to penetrate the seals. This destroys the ECM further causing the warranty to become null and void. Another important aspect to watch out for are oil leaks. Oil leaking across the harness like a wick and into the ECM can lead to issues. The ECM always needs to be disconnected before welding.
